The US government has issued an urgent warning to Iran against supplying Russia with ballistic missiles for its war of aggression against Ukraine. Nevertheless, State Department spokesman Vedant Patel in Washington said on Monday that if Tehran were to provide weapons to Moscow, there would be a “swift and vigorous” response. The United States is deeply concerned about reports that Iran plans to deliver hundreds of ballistic missiles to Russia, Patel said. Since the start of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, the United States has warned of deepening security cooperation between Russia and Iran. The partnership threatens Europe’s security and shows how “Iran’s destabilizing influence extends beyond the Middle East.”
