Kevin Costner talked about his future in “Yellowstone” while doing press for his new western, “Horizon: An American Saga.”

DENVER – After a year and a half of speculation about his involvement, Kevin Costner has officially announced that he will not be returning to “Yellowstone.”

Costner posted a video on social media Thursday night with the caption, “Update for you guys.”

The Paramount Network series aired its last new episode in January 2023 before being hiatus due to Sheridan and Costner’s busy schedules.

For the past year and a half, Costner has been busy filming and editing “Horizon,” while Sheridan has been busy writing and producing several spinoffs of “Yellowstone” and other television series. Costner had told several media outlets while promoting “Horizon” that he was open to returning to “Yellowstone.”
