The Los Angeles Times reported late Thursday that the owner of 99 Cent Only said it would close all 371 of its stores in the United States.

The deep discount retailer has at least 15 stores in Las Vegas, four in Henderson, three in North Las Vegas and one in Boulder City.

Liquidation sales will begin Friday, KCAL News in Los Angeles reported. The company was founded in 1982 and is headquartered in Commerce, California.

It has stores in California, Arizona, Nevada and Texas.

Having Las Vegas

– A 99-cent-only store opened at 3141 N. Rancho Drive in July 2011. Arrivals early to the store's 8 a.m. opening got the chance to purchase items at special prices, the Review-Journal reported. For example, the first nine people in line got the chance to buy a 22-inch flat-panel LCD TV from Philips for 99 cents. The store was the chain's 13th store in the Las Vegas Valley.

– The Review-Journal wrote in 2013 that 99-cent-only stores were working to bring beer and wine sales to the area. The chain has requested approval from the Las Vegas Planning Commission to sell the products at three of its 15 locations: 1200 S Decatur Blvd., 45 N. and 1155E. Charleston Blvd.
