Curtis started the second game of the series, and allowed two runs in five rounds of action with three strikes and three walks. During the regular season, the Left All-Star faced the Guardians twice and thrived with a 2.19 ERA and .393 OPS against.
He threw Clay Holmes into Game 4, and a rain fall on Monday night means he’s coming for a day off. Also, Wandy Peralta participated in all four games of this series. Jonathan Loisiga and Lucas Lutegg could be factors.
The Rangers were originally planning to take on Aaron Ceval, and it seems Terry Francona could stick to that plan even in light of the delay. However, it is possible that he could change course and give a nod to ace Shane Pepper (who started Game 2 on Friday against Curtis). Civale held opposing lineups on the .200/.244/.394 line for the first time through the standings this year. And then the Guardians are loaded with three of their best setup men – Trevor Stephan, Sam Hentges and James Karinchak – all well rested. None of them got involved in Game 4 and only Hentges went in Game 3. Everything is closer, Emmanuel Clase went to 2 1/3 of the innings in Game 2 and hasn’t participated since. It’s entirely possible that those four bowlers could finish the game if the first player went through three runs.

The Guardians are much better prepared with promotion and I don’t trust Yankees shooters. Another crushing loss of soul for the Yankees in the late innings.
