Last year’s Mi Mix concept smartphone garnered much appreciation for its innovative design and impressive bezel-less display. Now, it appears the Mi Mix 2 is soon set to steal the show as the device has been spotted on popular benchmarking site Geekbench.
According to the listing on Geekbench database, the Mi Mix 2 is spotted running Qualcomm’s octa-core processor clocked at 1.9GHz. The listing doesn’t reveal the exact chipset model, but multiple reports suggest it is likely the latest Snapdragon 835 processor. Elsewhere, the smartphone features 6GB of RAM and runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
Finally, the listing also reveals benchmark test scores of the handset, who managed to pull-off single and multi-core scores of 1929 and 6431 respectively.
Notably, the listing comes shortly after Xiaomi CEO and Founder Lei Jun stated the Mi Mix is in the works. He also said that the successor of the Mi Mix would release by the end of this year, sometime between Q3 and Q4 2017.
The real deal about the Mix Mix was its innovative design and astounding screen. The handset’s design was conceived by French designer Phillipe Starck, and Jun confirms he’ll also be working on the forthcoming Mi Mix 2.
The Mi Mix 2 would likely be an impressive concept phone with its innovative design and powerful innards. Last year’s Mi Mix turned out to be a quite a cracker thanks to its unique design. The phone’s display has an astounding 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio.
Under the hood, it was crammed with the all latest tech such as support for high-res audio, a piezoelectric speaker was placed instead of a traditional feature, and was devoid of all top-mounted sensors. No wonder Xiaomi called the Mi Mix a concept phone.
According to the company, the Mi Mix was “a breathtaking work of art that surpasses existing innovations in the smartphone industry” Hence, we can also expect the upcoming Mi Mix 2 surpass the standards of design and performance set by its predecessor.
