“I found it a little scary, so I didn’t go back,” the “13 Going on 30” star admitted while applying makeup in the candid video on Monday.
However, she explained that she had a wonderful experience at the evening titled “Poiret: King of Fashion” wearing a “magical red Valentino dress” as a date for the designer.
“It was really solemn and special,” Garner, 51, recalls.
Garner isn’t the only celebrity to take the oath of office at the annual event moderated by Anna Wintour at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Gwyneth Paltrow, Demi Lovato, Amy Schumer and more have all said the A-list event is “boring” in different ways.
The Golden Globe winner previously reflected on her take on the evening in a 2018 Instagram post highlighting her strapless, floor-length dress and hairstyle.
“You’ll never be able to use the bathroom alone until your dress is sewn,” Garner said Comment on the red carpet photo.
“#TrueFriendsHelpYouPee,” she concluded, tagging producer Nicole King Sulaka in the social media upload.
While the “Alias” alum didn’t look back at other standout looks during Monday’s video, she did give viewers a glimpse into her “as quick as can be” beauty routine.

Garner explained that she “always” uses sunscreen, noting that she did not do so in her younger years and that she is paying the price.
“Nothing looks better in your 50s than sunscreen in your 20s, ladies,” she advised. “Did you hear here first.”
Elsewhere in the footage, she said she had passed the practice on to her and ex-husband Ben Affleck’s three children, Violet, 18, Seraphina, 14, and Samuel, 11.
“All I care about is that my kids do is wash their faces at night and put on SPF,” she said. “Otherwise, that’s their business.”
The rest of the video included appearances from her “favorite” product. Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick ($68), go for Neutrogena, of which she’s an ambassador — and her only “indulgence.” Hermès Rouge Matte Lipstick ($75).
“Don’t tell mom,” she taunted the latter.
