Walt Disney World in Orlando warns visitors “should expect park closures” due to Milton

Orlando, Florida. – Walt Disney World in Orlando Announce Saturday night, “visitors should expect the parks to be closed” due to Milton, a tropical storm set to become a hurricane that will impact Florida.

Walt Disney World Resort staff prepared for strong winds, heavy rain and possible flooding. Disney warned Severe weather could impact outdoor attractions even before a Category 3 hurricane makes landfall in West Florida.

The announcement came on the heels of Governor Ron DeSantis’ emergency declaration for 35 counties and the National Hurricane Center’s report that the tropical depression had strengthened into a tropical storm in the Gulf of Mexico.

President Joe Biden’s administration urged Floridians on Saturday to prepare for the next hurricane. This all happened while federal and state crews were still dealing with the devastation left behind by Hurricane Helen.

Tourists in South Florida were already dealing with heavy rain and the threat of flooding this week and next before Milton.
