Walmart is launching a new brand, Bettergoods

(WJW) – Walmart just launched its largest private-label grocery brand in two decades, company officials announced in Press release on Tuesday.

The new brand, called Bettergoods, is described as “a new upscale experience offering high-quality, unique, chef-inspired food at an amazing value,” according to Walmart.

The company boasts that top-of-the-line items cost between less than $2 and less than $15, but most items that hit shelves under the new brand name cost less than $5.

Walmart plans to make at least 300 Bettergoods products available in the coming months, but company officials say shoppers can already find the goods in its stores and Connected.

Bettergoods items will be available for curbside pickup and same-day delivery, according to Media release.

The new brand consists of a variety of products found in all grocery aisles, including frozen products, dairy products, beverages, snacks, soups, pastas, coffee and more.

Items are divided into three categories: “Culinary Experiences,” “Vegan,” and “Made Without,” the latter of which focuses on different dietary lifestyle choices.

Walmart leaders noted that customers these days expect more from the private label brands they find in stores.
