ABC had a big ratings hit Tuesday with the season 33 premiere of Dancing with the stars.
The episode premiered last night to 4.97 million viewers, according to Live + Same-Day Nielsen data, marking a 4% increase from the Season 32 premiere’s audience of 4.78 million last fall.
In the 18-49 demo, Season 33’s viewership was up 14% year-over-year to a 0.73 rating. Nielsen data shows that’s 19% higher than the Season 32 average ratings for that demo.
Tuesday’s episode was the best. Dancing with the stars The song has been airing in the 18-49 demo since Taylor Swift’s night last November, just weeks before the finale.
as always, Dancing with the stars The competition kicked off by allowing the contestants to introduce themselves with their opening numbers. Each was tasked with choosing their “anthem” or a song that they felt represented them, and the professionals would choreograph their custom dance.
This season’s cast includes Olympic rugby player Ilona Maher, Bachelor Nation’s Joy Graziadei and Jane Tran, NBA champion Dwight Howard, Anna Delvey, and Olympic gymnast Steven Nedorosik.
