US military plane crashes – training flight in the Mediterranean

A US Air Force plane crashed in the Mediterranean Sea. It is not yet clear how many people were on board.

A US military aircraft has crashed in the eastern Mediterranean during a training flight, the US military said. The cause is currently under investigation, according to a statement from the US Armed Forces in Europe (Eucom) on Saturday evening. However, it can be said with certainty that the aircraft was on a training mission and there is no evidence of enemy activity. So the incident took place on Friday evening.

Out of consideration for the families of the victims, no further information about the soldiers involved in the accident will be released at this time. There is no information about which division the military aircraft belonged to, what type of aircraft and how many people were on board.

More recently, because of the Gaza War, the United States moved several warships to the Eastern Mediterranean as a blockade, including the aircraft carriers “USS Dwight D. Eisenhower” and “USS Gerald R. Ford”. Air force forces have also already been deployed to the region.
