Flight warning in Kiev – Speculation about NASA satellites

An unusual trail of light on the night horizon over Kiev has prompted an air alert in the Ukrainian capital. Shortly after, the city’s military administration announced in a telegram that a NASA satellite entering the Earth’s atmosphere may have caused the event. “An airstrike alert has been issued to avoid casualties from falling debris on the ground,” it said. Anti-aircraft defenses are not active. The satellite could be the RHESSI space telescope, whose re-entry into the atmosphere was announced Thursday night. The telescope was launched in February 2002 and the mission ended in October 2018.

Kiev: Only Putin’s doppelganger visits the front

According to Kiev, Russian President Vladimir Putin was acting as a double agent when he allegedly advanced on Ukraine’s occupied territories. “That’s not the real Putin,” Oleksiy Danilov, secretary of Ukraine’s National Security Council, said on television Wednesday without evidence. “To talk to the real Putin, you need to be in isolation for at least 10 to 14 days.” Putin found in Kherson “an ordinary double, as you know there are many.”

According to Danilo, it is simply impossible to imagine that Putin is a “scared man” and that he has decided to visit the front. The exact time of the alleged visit was not provided by the Kremlin. Information from the war zone cannot be independently verified.

Ukrainian front-line fighters get paid more

Ukrainian soldiers receive 100,000 hryvnias (about 2,500 euros) a month in addition to their military pay for being stationed at the front lines of the fight against Russian troops. The Ukrainian military leadership made the announcement on Wednesday, ending speculation about pay and allowances.

“A soldier who serves the country and defends it against an aggressor, risking his own life and health to perform duties under the most difficult conditions must be highly motivated,” the General Staff report said.
