In injury news, rookie Kenneth Walker will not play III on Thursday and is, as Carroll explained, “undergoing surgery.” Carroll, who said the day before that Walker had a hernia problem, explained, “This isn’t a sports hernia, it’s something a little different. We have a chance of getting it back quickly.”

Linebacker Jordyn Brooks, who missed the season opener – although it’s not clear how much he would have played even if he was healthy – with a hamstring injury, returned to training on Tuesday and is pushing back, but may not play on Thursday.

“He wants to go, we’re still talking to him about that,” Carroll said, adding that a short week this week followed by a seven-day hiatus before the next game means the Seahawks will err on the side of caution when it comes to bringing players back from injuries in Thursday night’s game.

“We don’t want to rush into any of these decisions if we don’t have to,” Carroll said.

Carroll said Jake Corhan, who is vying for the primary job in the right tackle, is back in training after coming out of a back spasm the day before, and it’s good to go Thursday night.

Defensive end LJ Collier, who has been out since injuring his elbow in Seattle’s mock game earlier this month, is “really close” to a comeback, but he won’t play on Thursday.

“We just think the match came very quickly,” Carroll said. “Maybe if it was the weekend, he’d be fine. We’ll have it next week.”
