The Russians want revenge for the first drone attack on Moscow since the start of their own war of aggression against Ukraine. Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov called for martial law to be imposed. More on Live Ticker.
NAfter the drone strike in Moscow, Russia threatened Ukraine with retaliation. Apart from Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, who announced the reaction by accusing Kiev of terrorism, his close confidant Ramzan Kadyrov vowed revenge: the leader of the Russian republic of Chechnya in the North Caucasus called for martial law in Russia. Strict measures should be taken against Ukraine. Ukraine, which has been under constant attack by Russia, has denied direct responsibility for the attack on Moscow.
“We will soon show in the zone of military special operations what revenge is in the full sense of the word,” Kadyrov wrote in his blog on the Telegram news channel. He again threatened Western Europe with Russian attacks, saying that Russia could knock on the doors of Germany or Poland, for example.
In the Russian capital, air defenses shot down several drones on Tuesday morning. According to officials, several houses were damaged and two people were injured. It’s unclear where the drones came from.

After the drone attack on Moscow, the US spoke out publicly against attacks on Russian territory. “Fundamentally, we do not support attacks inside Russia,” a spokesman for US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said on the sidelines of his visit to Sweden on Tuesday. “We are focused on providing Ukraine with the equipment and training it needs to regain its own sovereign territory.”

Russia has launched a war against Ukraine and “can end it at any time by withdrawing its troops from Ukraine instead of launching brutal attacks against Ukrainian cities and people every day”.
