‘This is 100% unfair’: Savannah Chrisley vows family will appeal after Jolie’s sentencing re-enacted – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — Reality star Julie Chrisley’s family was not happy after a judge sentenced her to seven years in prison.

Tom Jones from Channel 2 Julie Chrisley was inside the federal courtroom Wednesday for the hearing as she broke down in tears as she explained to the court how she had 20 months to reflect on her actions that led to her being there.

Then I apologized.

After the judge sentenced her to seven years in prisonHer daughter Savannah said she was not happy with the decision.

“This is 100 percent unfair,” Savannah Chrisley said after the hearing.

Savannah appears to have blamed the judge’s decision not to reduce her mother’s sentence on the political climate.

“Let’s face it. We’re in Fulton County. We’ve seen injustice happen time and time again,” Savannah Chrisley said.

She did not mention what injustice she saw.

Julie Chrisley and her husband Todd, from the reality show “Chrisley Knows Best,” were convicted two years ago of bank fraud and tax evasion.

Todd was sentenced to 12 years in prison, and Julie to seven years.

The Court of Appeal ruled that the sentencing guidelines had changed and that the loss from the fraud had been significantly reduced, so Julie had to be resentenced.

Julie, wearing a blue prison uniform, tearfully apologized for her actions and said she was working on becoming a better person.

Savannah cried and later told Jones that it was hard to listen to her mother.

“It’s so sad,” Savannah Chrisley said. “It’s so sad, especially for me as a woman, to see how women are treated in the system.”

The prosecution asked the judge to maintain the seven-year prison sentence.

The defense called for a reduced sentence.

The judge said that when you make mistakes, these are the consequences. She then resentenced Chrisley to 84 months in prison.

Savannah Chrisley said that’s not the end of it.

“So, we will be moving forward with the appeal of this decision,” Savannah Chrisley said.

Julie Chrisley has already served 20 months in prison, so it looks like she has about five years left.
