The Astros team up with the Unbeaten Yankees

NEW YORK – A mob of losers stormed Yankee Stadium on a sunny Saturday afternoon in hopes of seeing a non-batter with Gerrit Cole on the hill. They saw no, but not in the way they could have imagined.

Astros writer Christian Jafferwho signed for $10,000 as a free, no-draft agent from the Dominican Republic in 2015, along with attenuators Hector Neres And the Ryan Presley Without hitting the Yankees – the team with the best record in baseball – in Houston’s sparkling 3-0 win.

It’s the first time the Yankees have not suffered an injury since six Astros bowlers met on June 11, 2003 at Old Yankee Stadium. These are the only two that have been thrown against the Yankees since 1958.

Javier, 25, has scored 13 hitters in his career in seven no-hitters, throwing 115 hits (71 hits) in the process. This is the most hits by a Houston player since Cole hit 14 hitters on September 24, 2019.

Josh Donaldson was the only Yankee to reach base against Javier. He drew an initial walk on a nearby court 3-2 as he held up on the check swing, arriving again in the seventh inning with a throwing foul by third baseman Alex Bergman.

Cole, who had carried the hitter in the eighth from his previous start, wouldn’t allow a hit even twice in the fifth and kept the Astros off the board until rookie JJ Matijewicz hit a tape measure into right field with two outs in the seventh. Jose Altuve Homer added a solo eighth from thinner Michael King.
