Taylor Swift lands in the US ahead of Travis Kelce's Super Bowl performance | Entertainment news

Swift is expected to attend the biggest event on the American sporting calendar on Sunday to cheer on her friend.

International pop star Taylor Swift returned to the United States from Japan, raising expectations with her upcoming appearance at the Super Blow concert to cheer on her boyfriend Travis Kelce, media reported.

Swift touched down in Los Angeles on Saturday after wrapping up a sold-out show in Tokyo, raising fans' hopes of attending Sunday's game in Las Vegas to watch Kelce take on the Kansas City Chiefs against the San Francisco 49ers.

Gossip TMZ posted a grainy photo of Swift getting into an SUV waiting at Los Angeles International Airport before departing accompanied by a procession of vehicles with tinted windows.

Swift's exact whereabouts have been a source of widespread speculation on social media, with internet sleuths posting regular updates about a plane en route to Los Angeles from Tokyo.

The Japanese Embassy even weighed in on Swift's trip, posting on social media that if the pop star leaves Tokyo in the evening after her concert, she “should comfortably arrive in Las Vegas before the start of the Super Bowl.”

Swift, one of the most successful music artists of all time, with 14 Grammy Awards and hundreds of millions in album sales worldwide, has attended 12 NFL games to watch Kelce play.

NFL officials have credited Swift's presence at the games with a sudden increase in the sport's popularity among young women.

Swift's appearance at the 58th Super Bowl at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas could help push audience attendance for the NFL show, which regularly attracts more than 100 million viewers as the biggest event on the American sports calendar, to new heights.

Kelsey joked earlier this week that he feels pressure to win after Swift on Sunday picked up a record-breaking fourth Grammy for album of the year for Midnights.

“It's unbelievable,” Kelce said at a news conference on Monday.

“She's rewriting the history books herself. I told her I'd have to keep my side of the bargain and go home with some hardware, too.
