Some unexpected celebrities have arrived in Ukraine today. The Prime Minister of Canada Trudeau, who visited Kiev, met the wife of the President of Ukraine, the first American woman. An amazing concert also took place.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has traveled to Ukraine unannounced. The Canadian government has confirmed that Trudeau visited Irfin in the Kiev region. He also announced a planned meeting between Trudeau and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zhelensky. Through his visit, the Canadian Prime Minister sought to “reaffirm Canada’s unwavering support for the Ukrainian people.”

“I am proud to speak with the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau,” Irfin Mayor Oleksandr Marcusin said on his Facebook page. “He came to Irbine to see with his own eyes all the horrors that the Russian occupiers had done to our city.”

After Russia invaded Ukraine in late February, the area around the capital Kiev – including the suburb of Irbine – was occupied by Russian troops for several weeks. Since the beginning of April, after their withdrawal, the bodies of hundreds of civilians have been found, with Ukraine blaming Russia for their deaths.

The first American woman, Jill Biden, also visited Ukraine without warning. At a school used as a shelter for internally displaced persons in Uskorod, Biden met with Ukrainian First Lady Olena Zhelenska, her spokeswoman said. According to a US official, this is the first public appearance of the wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zhelensky since the start of Russia’s war of aggression on February 24.

Bono performs a concert at the Kiev subway station

Meanwhile, musicians from the Irish rock band U2 were surprised to find an air strike used as a shelter at a subway station in Kiev. Friendman Bono and guitarist “The Edge”‘s classic songs such as “Stand by Me” can be seen in the videos of the Ukrainian media. “President Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited us to play in Kyiv and showed our solidarity with the people of Ukraine, and we did,” the two musicians wrote on the band’s official Twitter account.

“People in Ukraine are fighting not only for their own freedom, but for all of us who want freedom,” Bono said at the concert, according to the Irish broadcaster RTE. The Union News Agency wrote that the arrival of the Irish musician was unexpected. He is said to have co-starred with Taras Dopolja of the Ukrainian band Antitilla.
