Season 6 Stars Leave – Who’s Back?

“All American” will look very different when it returns for its seventh season.

While The CW previously announced that Daniel Ezra, who played football player Spencer James for all six seasons, would not be returning as a main character in the series, they have now confirmed that he is not the only one. Samantha Logan (Olivia), Cody Christian (Asher), Karima Westbrook (Grace James), Monet Mazur (Laura Baker), and Chelsea Tavares (Patence) will not be returning as main characters in the series.

This means that only three of the original cast will return full-time: Michael Evans-Behling (Jordan), Greta Onyeoghu (Layla), and Bree-Z (Coop).

For his part, Ezra will return to direct and guest star in Season 7, with “other fan-favorite original characters” expected to make guest appearances.

Some exits were hinted at in the season six finale; Olivia and Spencer got married, he won the Super Bowl and asked her to move to New York to live with him. Meanwhile, Jordan and Lily took over Laura’s house. Without Spencer in town, there wouldn’t be much for his mother Grace to do. And Pines got a gig in New York City on Broadway.

According to the official plot, Season 7 will take the drama “back to where it all began: Beverly Hills High School and South Crenshaw High School. It’s the same heart, the same NFL dream, the same town rivalry, the same chaotic hormones, with a new generation of teens in Los Angeles, a new coach in Beverly and the original Vortex family, who are surprised to discover that they are supposed to be responsible adults now.”

Antonio J. Bell and Alexis Chikaize, who played South Crenshaw students Khalil and Amina, were promoted to series regulars, while two new cast members were added: Osei Ikele as new Beverly High School football coach Cassius Jeremy; and Nathaniel McIntyre as Jeremy’s son and the school’s new quarterback, Kingston Jeremy.

All American season 7 is scheduled to premiere in 2025.
