The British royal family has sent a birthday message to Prince Harry for the first time in three years, as the estranged duke celebrates his 40th birthday on Sunday.

“Wishing the Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday today!” Official Royal Family X The account has been published.

The congratulations were accompanied by a photo of Harry at DogPatch Labs during his visit to Dublin, Ireland in July 2018 when he was still a member of the royal family.

The birthday message comes after the family has not made any public statements about Harry’s birthday since the death of Queen Elizabeth in September 2022.

The family did not publicly wish King Charles’ second son a happy birthday last year as part of new protocol implemented when he took the throne.

At the time, the new king’s social media posts were limited to highlighting only working members of the royal family.

The account did not mention that Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, celebrated her birthday on August 4.

Harry is also expected to receive phone calls from some of his family members.

“Harry will be contacted by his family,” a royal source exclusively told The Post. “It is very likely that Charles and Kate will call Harry to wish him well on his birthday.”

Although he is likely to speak to his father and sister-in-law, Harry will not speak to his older brother, Prince William.

The Prince of Wales, 42, is unlikely to communicate with Harry “given everything that has happened”.

Harry and Prince William met face-to-face at the funeral of their uncle Lord Robert Fellowes on August 28.

A source familiar with the matter told The Post that Prince Harry attended the funeral “in a personal capacity,” adding that his trip had not been extended. The source said he flew to the funeral and left shortly after.

Harry is expected to celebrate his birthday this year with a huge cash bounty of $8.5 million, thanks to arrangements made by his late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.

To celebrate Harry’s special day, Meghan Markle is hosting a star-studded party in Montecito.

After his birthday celebrations, Harry will travel to New York City where he will “present a number of his charitable and patronage initiatives.” His trip to New York coincides with the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week and Climate Week.
