Past reports had already tipped us about Razer’s plans to release a smartphone that’ll be tailor-made for gamers. Now, the company has finally launched a new device that is being marketed as a smartphone for gamers, simply called the Razer Phone.

The newly launched device features top-of-the-line hardware which includes the latest Snapdragon 835 processor bundled with a whopping 8GB of RAM. Being marketed as a device targeted at gamers, the Razer Phone sports a 5.7-inch 1440p IGZO LCD 120Hz display panel to make gaming and UI transitions smooth and stutter-free.

Not to mention, the Razer Phone packs THX-certified stereo speakers on the front, both speakers house an amplifier to offer that immersive audio experience while gaming.

Elsewhere, the smartphone comes with 64GB of built-in storage which is further expandable via a microSD slot. Hence, gamers won’t have to worry about space constraints as they can install multiple games on their Razer Phone.

On the photography front, the Razer phone is equipped with a dual-lens camera setup. Both lenses feature 12MP sensors, one of them being a wide-angle lens while the other offers a 2x telephoto lens for zooming.

Juicing up the Razer Phone is a 4000mAH battery with support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4+ Fast Charging technology. The company claims the battery can reach from 0 to 85 percent in nearly an hour.

As far OS goes, the Razer Phone runs a near-stock version of Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. The device is also expected to get upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo sometime in Q1 2018. Interestingly, the smartphone will also come with pre-installed Nova Launcher Prime Razer edition.

The smartphone also comes with a feature called Razer Game Booster. Now, this essentially allows gamers to configure the smartphone. They can adjust the frame rate, CPU workload, DND-mode, and more during gameplay.

Priced at $699, pre-orders for the Razer Phone are now open via the company’s official website, while shipping begins on November 17th.
