Pokemon Go gets a new legendary character which players can catch over the next two weeks. This time Niantic has unlocked the legendary bird Ho-oh, which Pokemon players can catch in legendary raids.
Interestingly, it’s the first time Ho-oh has been made available in Pokemon Go. Also, it’ll be available for a more limited period compared to other legendary Pokemon characters. As usually, legendary Pokemon characters are available only for a month or so, but Ho-oh is available to catch only from November 28 to December 12. Now, this essentially means players just have two weeks to work together and catch this Pokemon.
“As a result of all your hard work, Ho-Oh is now appearing in Raid Battles at Gyms around the world until December 12, 2017. So, gather your friends and find a Legendary Raid near you,” said Niantic.
There must be a group of 20 players to take part in a legendary raid. The group will then use their Pokemon to attack the legendary Pokemon to try and catch it.
It’s also worth noting that in original Pokemon games, legendary characters had unique abilities as it took a master trainer to catch one. However, in Pokemon Go, key difference between a legendary Pokemon and a regular Pokemon is the fact that legendary Pokemon can only be caught in Raids.
The arrival of legendary bird Ho-oh comes shortly after news broke that Pokemon Go players have caught 3 billion Pokemon last week. This also means that Farfecth’d, a Pokemon found only in Asia will also be globally, though only until the end of the day.
In other related news, Niantic also announced that they are working on a new project called Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. However, the developer also promised that working on a new title does not mean it would stop supporting Pokemon Go.
