Pixel Weather widget cracks at 100 degrees

Southwest was face standard heat With temperatures hitting 100 degrees since the middle of this week and expected to last until Labor Day. When checking out the Pixel Weather app over the past few days, it became apparent that the main gadget was not properly designed to show temperatures over 100.

Last year, Android 12 on Pixel phones Husband’s feet From the delightful material you widgets are fairly information-intensive and feature dynamic color customization to adapt to your wallpaper. To this day, it remains exclusive to Google phones even on other Android 12/13 devices. (The same can be said about a YouTube Music tool in particular This fits perfectly.)

Largest widget configuration shows current temperature and condition, high and low day forecast, and two day forecast. The other key piece is the outlook for the next four hours. When it goes over 100, the degree symbol is amusingly pushed to the next line. This moves the visual representation down and results in the time increment disappearing.

As you can see below, everything works normally when it’s only two digits, but three visually breaks things. Adjusting the system and text display size doesn’t seem to make a difference.

It obviously remains more than usable, but reveals a design state that is no longer a remote possibility in this day and age. Hopefully, Google will treat temps to a score of 100 with a future update to the Google app, which supports these weather widgets.

Speaking of fixes, there are still people who have occasional issues with tools not updating without a click that unlocks the whole experience. It would also be great if that was finally resolved.
