OnePlus has marked the release of OnePlus 6 in the early half of 2018 which is a big upgrade in the smartphone series by the company. It is still early to know the specifications featured by the phone but most likely the OP6 will flaunt a 6-inch display like its number 6 in the series. The screen shall come with an 18:9 aspect ratio with a Quad HD display of 2880×1440 pixels resolution.
As of now the predecessor, OnePlus 5 offers a 5.5-inch screen with 73.0% screen-to-body ratio but the new OP6 offers a new change in this particular area. The year 2017 has been a bezel-less design era and the same seems true for the upcoming OP6. For a 6-inch screen, the manufacturers will try to keep the size of the phone small to avoid an awkward looking phone with a narrow bezel design.
According to rumors, OP6 will house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor along with similar phones releasing in 2018 like Xiaomi’s Mi 7, Samsung Galaxy series and upcoming LG phones. It is believed that OP6 will house a RAM of 6GB or 8GB along with an increase in the internal storage of the device with variants of 128GB and 256GB.
The OnePlus company will skip the Nougat in the year 2018 and opt for the Android Oreo for the OP6. The company has its own Oxygen OS with features such as custom icons, waves MaxxAudio support, off-screen gestures, dark mode, camera and app permissions. OnePlus plans on bringing all its new features for Oreo in the OP6.
The predecessor for OP6 arrived in June and OnePlus consumers expect the same launch pattern for the upcoming OnePlus 6 as well. Considering the significant upgrades, the phone might be priced a little high, not up to the level of iPhone x but with a tag ranging from US$600 to $700 which is a bit higher than its predecessor.
