Nitara joins Mortal Kombat 1, played by Megan Fox

Megan Fox is the voice of vampire Nitara in the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 game, and NetherRealm Studios has just shared a new trailer revealing the newest playable fighter on the roster.

Hailing from the dark and desolate world of Vaeternus, Nitara joins the fight in Mortal Kombat 1 to protect her race from vampires. In combat, it uses its claws, fangs, and aerial abilities. You can check out the new fighter in action in the clip below.

“She comes from this weird world, she’s some kind of vampire creature,” Fox explains in the video. “She’s evil but also good. She’s trying to save her people. I really love her. She’s a vampire and obviously resonates for whatever reason. It’s cool to be in the game, you know? Because I’m not just expressing it.” It would be as if she looked like me.”

Fox also said she grew up playing Mortal Kombat, and “I can’t believe I’m voicing a character in the new game.”

Mortal Kombat 1 will be released on September 19 (or September 14 for early access) on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. You’ll have to be careful online over the next week and a half or so, as players who got their hands on physical copies of the game have leaked the full roster for Mortal Kombat 1.
