Nintendo has launched a new mission system for Nintendo Switch Online users

Those with an active Nintendo Switch Online account just got a few new options to customize their player profiles. Now live, players will be able to complete weekly Nintendo quests to earn a currency called Platinum Points, which can be exchanged for digital wallpapers, physical items from the My Nintendo Store, and new icon items from games like Super Mario Odyssey And the Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It’s all part of the new “Quests and Rewards” feature bundled with Nintendo Switch Online.

These various icon elements include characters, frames, or backgrounds, which can be combined to get a unique player icon. Each month will feature a different theme, with new icon items released every week. The first set of code items will be available for a limited time until April 3. options from new Horizons Includes: Dom, the bow-tie-wearing sheep character, Molly the Duck, Shepher the Goat, and more. Additional Mario icons include Explorer Toad and Cappy, among others.

Missions are relatively simple. This week the app assigns players tasks such as playing a game with online features, or playing the NES software that comes included with their Nintendo Switch Online account. Just playing one online game per week will give you 30 platinum points. For reference, an Animal Crossing avatar costs 10 platinum points.

To get the new icons, you need a file Nintendo Switch Online Account You will need to download the app from the Nintendo Switch.
