Nintendo, on Tuesday during a Game Developer Conference revealed about the top-10 best-selling Switch Indie games. The list includes some popular games like Celeste, Stardew Valley, and Shovel Knight.
Attending the event, Nintendo’s frontman of the indie efforts, Damon Baker stated that “Nintendo fans really tap into those games that share inspiration, or have a sense of, nostalgia, with tried and true franchises, maybe games they grew up playing when they were younger.”
Well, Baker has not revealed about how many units each game sold. When asked about the names he informed that the list includes games like SteamWorld Dig 2, Celeste, Fast RMX, Golf Story, Stardew Valley, Kamiko, Overcooked, NBA Playgrounds, Enter the Gungeon, and Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove. Informing more about it, baker further stated that, now the users can enjoy the multiplayer gameplay and they can enjoy PC gaming like experience on the go.
On the other side, this success boosted the company’s earning. As per the report, for the first-time Nintendo witnessed record-breaking third-party download game sales. It is much higher than the third-party packaged game sales.
Nintendo has a wide range of audience which includes kids, young adults, and dudebros and they all have quite good knowledge about digital content. Due to its convenient factors, people are now buying digitally on switch more and more. Looking into the popularity, the company is now taking steps to enhance the discoverability of its eShop and will soon they will fix the limitations of Nintendo eShop issues. Nintendo’s eShop soon will get games like Hyper Light Drifter, Nidhogg 2, and Crashlands. The user can download that to switch.
As per the information, over its first 10 months, the Nintendo’s Switch was the top-selling console in the US. Around 14.86 million units of the Switch has sold worldwide.
