From May 2018, Microsoft will be bringing some new rules for users of Xbox. These rules will not make people happy as the hammer of the ban will be hitting on them. According to new user rules and agreement, people who will be using offensive language will get their accounts suspended or closed for violations of the agreement.
Microsoft has notified about the new user agreement service during the weekend. A law student and civil rights advocate Jonathan Corbett said in his blog that, you may get a ban for publicly displaying or sharing an inappropriate content or material on Microsoft service. Corbett also said this means his account may get a ban for doing an adult video call with his girlfriend or graphics violence will apply to violent video games. He also said that he got banned from Reddit’s Microsoft community after posting his blog about the new service.
Microsoft writes that “ In the Code of Conduct section, we have clarified that use of offensive language and fraudulent activity is prohibited.” The stuff like nudity, graphic violence, bestiality and other things are part of the service for quite some time but earlier Xbox Code of Conduct has prohibited “profane words or phrases.”
This does not mean the Microsoft will be seeing through your OneDrive archives or Outlook inbox. It says that “ it reserves the right to review your content” when the company is investigating the violations caused by you but this is already written in the old agreement.
