Microsoft says services “continue to see improvements.”

In an update issued at 8:55 a.m. UK time (3:55 a.m. ET), Microsoft 365 said on social media platform X that “many services continue to see improvements in availability as our mitigation measures progress.”

according to Microsoft web page By tracking the status of its services, “users may not be able to access various Microsoft 365 apps and services.” The issues affect apps including Microsoft Fabric, Teams, Purview, Defender, SharePoint, and OneNote, according to the tracker.

Shares of tech giants CrowdStrike and Microsoft posted losses in pre-market trading, after both companies reported major outages that affected businesses around the world.

CrowdStrike shares were down 14.08% at 09:27 a.m. London time, with Microsoft shares down 2.12%.

London Stock Exchange says it is investigating technical issues

But London doesn’t yet have the tech giants that dominate the US market.

The London Stock Exchange Group said on Friday it was investigating technical issues after suffering a global IT outage that affected pricing data and news communications.

In a notice on its website, the London Stock Exchange said it was “currently experiencing a global technical issue with a third party, which is preventing news from being published on www.londonstockexchange.com.”

The group added that “technical teams are working to restore service, while other services in the group, including the London Stock Exchange, continue to operate normally.”

LSEG’s Eikon data platform was also affected by technical issues on Friday morning.

When you log in to the platform, a notice appears at the top of the site that says: “We apologize for the inconvenience. You will need to restart your workspace. If you need assistance, please contact us.”

LSEG could not immediately be reached for comment when contacted by CNBC on Friday.

CrowdStrike Rolls Back Update After Major Outage

Cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike told NBC that the service suffered a major outage on Friday, impacting businesses worldwide.

The company said the outage was caused by a problem with a recent update. CrowdStrike is now rolling back that update globally.

Microsoft announces a glitch

Microsoft said on Friday that its cloud services were back up and running after an outage.

The US tech giant said late Thursday that customers in the central US region may experience issues with multiple Azure services and the Microsoft 365 suite of applications. This could include “failure of service management operations, connectivity, or service availability.”

Microsoft said Friday it had identified the underlying cause of the issue and most services had been restored. However, the company said some customers in the region may be experiencing issues.

“A small set of services are still experiencing residual impact,” Microsoft said.
