Kentucky Fried Chicken doubled down on the Double Down Sandwich.
You may remember the ballyhooed sandwich from chain restaurants that replaced the bun with two strips of chicken and cheese, two slices of bacon, and mayonnaise or hot sauce packed inside. the Double Down debuted in 2010 Kentucky Fried Chicken sold more than 10 million sandwiches.
KFC brought back Double Down in April 2014. Since then it has only been a living memory. But starting March 6, the sandwich returns for four weeks.
“The Double Down is one of the most popular fast food menu items ever,” KFC chief marketing officer Nick Chavez said in a press release. “After nearly a decade of people begging for his return, we’re embracing the mess, bringing back our best sandwich ever for just four weeks.”

Want to eat at Double Down early? Starting Thursday, you can sign up at www.kfcdoubledowndrop.com to be one of 2,014 customers to get one of our sandwiches a day early on Sunday.
Kentucky fried down calories
The Double Down weighs in at 950 calories, far more than the Big Mac (550 calories), but less than the Five Guys Bacon Cheeseburger (1,060 calories).
KFC said it does not disclose additional nutritional details about its limited-time menu items. But the original Double Down was reported to be 540 calories and also had 1,380 milligrams of salt (about 60% of the calories). Daily recommendationwhich is less than the 2,300 recommended by the federal government for a full day’s consumption) and 10 grams of saturated fat (about 50% of the day’s supply).

Prefer your sandwich over a bun? Kentucky Fried Chicken introduces a new Chicken Bacon & Cheese Sandwich, also available for a limited time: a double crispy white beef filet with cheese, two strips of bacon, real mayonnaise and pickles on freshly toasted brioche bun.
In the meantime, you can still get a file KFC wrap Available through March 19, two are available for $5. You can choose between the Classic Chicken Wrap, with extra crispy chicken, pickles and mayonnaise in a warm tortilla, or the Spicy Slow Chicken Wrap, with extra crispy, hot sauce, coleslaw and pickles.
