Israel’s Defense Minister Jove Gallant has announced a “new phase” of war. The focus is on the northern border region, Gallant said in a speech at the Air Force base. Forces and resources will be moved there.

In the country’s north, Israel’s military and Hamas-affiliated Hezbollah have been fighting in Lebanon for months. Recently the mass explosion of pagers and radios has greatly restricted the communication of terrorist fighters. The Hezbollah And Iran blames Israel for a suspected coordinated attack on hundreds of radio receivers. Israel has not officially commented on this.

Guterres warns of escalation

“We are at the beginning of a new phase of warfare – one that requires courage, determination and perseverance,” Defense Minister Gallant continued. The military, along with the foreign intelligence agency Mossad, “did a great job,” he said, without elaborating.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned of a dramatic escalation of the conflict in light of the explosions: “The logic behind detonating all these devices is certainly to do it as a pre-emptive strike before a major military operation.”

Since the Gaza war began almost a year ago, there have been almost daily clashes between Hezbollah and Israel. Army. Tens of thousands of people on both sides had to flee their homes.
