Intel launched its Arrow Lake Core Ultra 200S processors on October 24 worldwide. Reviews have come out, including our own, showing that the Core Ultra 200S processors are lackluster in gaming but good at productivity and power efficiency. Despite a slight decline in gaming performance compared to previous generations, Core Ultra 200S CPUs are seeing good sales in Japan and the United States.

According to what was stated in a report Akibathe flagship Core Ultra 9 285K quickly sold out on the first day in every PC store. However, distribution was not high initially and retailers had few units to sell. However, some retailers are now selling the processor as part of the package. The package includes a Z890 motherboard with Ultra 9 285K, which is the only option for customers so far.

The Intel Core Ultra 9 285K CPU is said to be back this weekend as demand is good. The only store that currently has this processor for sale is Tsukumo A store in Tokyo, which sells it in bulk rather than individual units. The processor offers 24 cores in total with a combination of 8 P-cores and 16 E-cores with no redundant threads. It still beats the Intel Core i9 14900K in multi-threaded performance even though the latter has 8 more threads.

The Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor retails for 115,800 yen in Japan, which equates to US$760 including tax. The official MSRP for the CPU in the North American market is $589, which targets the previous Core i9 14900K/13900K. Users purchasing this or any other Core Ultra 200S CPU will have to purchase a motherboard for the Z890 chipset as it is compatible with LGA 1851 sockets and will not fit Z790 boards.

For gamers, upgrading from 12/13/14 generation processors does not seem to be a good option at all, but for productivity and multi-threaded workloads with lower power consumption, the Core Ultra 9 285K seems to be a suitable option compared to the Core i9. The rest of the CPUs, including the Ultra 7 265K and Ultra 5 245K, are still in stock at major retailers.
