Poland signs major arms deal with Ukraine

During a visit to an arms company in southeastern Poland, Prime Minister Moraviki praised weapons from domestic production. He also announces the signing of an agreement to export arms to a war-torn neighbor.

According to Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Poland has now signed a comprehensive agreement to supply arms to Ukraine. Moraviki, who visited the arms company Huta Stalowa Wola in the southeast of the country, said it was “the biggest arms export deal in the last thirty years, even if it was not.” Moraviki added that Polish weapons were important to war zones in eastern Ukraine. Ukraine will receive a portion of the purchase funds from the EU and pay only part of it.

The Polish Prime Minister did not say what kind of weapon it was or what the purpose of the arms deal was. However, when announcing the announcement to reporters, he and Defense Minister Mariusz Blasz posed in front of Crab self-propelled howitzers made in the Stolovo Vola. At the same time, Moraviki’s law firm tweeted a picture of the self-directed Howitzer with an overview of its properties. The maximum firing range of a heavy weapon is 40 kilometers, which can be fired up to 6 times a minute.

Morawicki said Crop’s self-propelled howitzer, Polish-made Peyron rockets and the Grott Assault rifle were among the weapons currently being sought for sale in Poland. “We sell them because we know they are essential on the modern battlefield.” A few days ago, the business newspaper Dziennik Gazeta Prawna reported that Poland intended to sell more than 50 Krab self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine. According to the newspaper, the contract is worth 655 million euros. The government has not confirmed this information.
