Just a few days ago, Google officially started rolling out its latest Android mobile operating system, Android Oreo, on supported Pixel and Nexus devices. Now, Taiwanese manufacturer HTC has promised that Google’s latest mobile OS will soon arrive on three of its flagship smartphones. These include the latest HTC U11 flagship, the HTC U Ultra, as well as last year’s HTC 10.

Therefore, HTC smartphone users can look forward to new Android 0 features such as improved notifications channel, new emojis, picture-in-picture video, support for multiple displays, along with adaptive icons.

Also, earlier this month, the company confirmed that its HTC U11 flagship would be one of the few phones that’ll support Bluetooth 5.0, when it gets upgraded to Android O.

“Your device’s hardware has been ready to support Bluetooth 5.0 connections—with no additional firmware updates needed from HTC. When Android O, the next version of the Android OS becomes available, HTC U11 owners all over the world will be able to enjoy the benefits of Bluetooth 5.0,” wrote HTC in a blog post.

Therefore, it appears HTC U11 is all set to join the list of the few smartphones that currently support Bluetooth 5.0, which include the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, OnePlus 5, Xperia XZ Premium, as well as the Xiaomi Mi 6.

According to HTC, Bluetooth 5.0 will help enhance the overall user experience for HTC U11 owners. The device will be the first smartphone to get Android 0 or Android 8.0 update after its official release later this month on supported Pixel and Nexus devices.

Also, Google wrote in an official blog post that its latest Android Oreo is also compatible with Google’s Android Instant Apps, which essentially allows you to directly teleport into the apps right from their browser, doing away the need to separately install the app. In addition, Oreo also features over 60 new emoji including counting a wizard, t-rex, fairy, and mind blown smiley.
