GTA Online latest expansion pack called Smuggler’s Run, is kind of a throwback to Rockstar’s GTA3 arcade racer from the late 90s. Though, unlike the original which was all about off-road vehicles, Smuggler’s Run is primarily about aircrafts which players will be able to try out starting August 29.

“Seems like recent events have taken their toll on Nervous Ron – he’s even more on edge than usual, and looking for a new business partner to help take over his burgeoning smuggling empire in Smuggler’s Run, the next big update to GTA Online, coming next Tuesday, August 29th,” wrote Rockstar in a blog.

In Smuggler’s Run, players will essentially be tasked to move inventory, but this time around you can deploy a massive range of new customizable aircrafts depending upon the mission. These new aircrafts will also be the HQ from which you can run your smuggling business, guided by Nervous Ron while Charlie will be the new mechanic who’ll look after your new collection of aircrafts.

Along with the new expansion pack, Rockstar also shared a preview of some of the other new content set to arrive on GTA Online later this year. Among them is a new kind of race that mimics a feature from Ubisoft’s forthcoming racing game, The Crew 2, which allows you to seamlessly switch between boats, cars, or an aircraft. In the upcoming racing mode, GTA Online will get also new circuits that require expertise across air, sea, as well as on land.

“New and strategically placed checkpoints will instantly change your vehicle class to match the portion of the course ahead, creating dynamic racing with ever shifting challenges to take the checkered flag,” Rockstar further adds in the blog.

Rockstar also says there’s a lot more incoming in the form of new modes, vehicles, along with some ‘fun stuff’ for Halloween and Christmas. The publisher also urges GTA V players to continue offering their feedback about what they want in the game through the company’s official website.
