At the Pixel 2 launch event, Google also announced a bunch of other products which include the new Pixelbook laptop, Pixel Buds wireless earphones, along with a new DayDream VR headset.
The new Pixelbook sports a 12.3-inch QHD display with a pixel density of 235ppi. It comes in three configurations and gets a starting price tag of $999. The laptop also has stylus called the Pixelbook Pen which is priced at $99. Pre-orders for the new Pixelbook are now live while shipping starts on October 31.
The laptop is equipped to support up to 16GB RAM and up to 512GB SSD. Customers also have the option to choose between a Core i5 and Core i7 processor. The company promises a 10-hour battery-life with the Pixelbook which uses USB Type-C charging.
Up next, we have the new Google Pixel Buds that are powered by the Google Assistant. These are the company’s new premium wireless headphones that are expected to compete against Apple’s AirPods. Google Pixel Buds only supports gestures as they don’t feature any physical buttons to play songs or skip tracks.
The Google Pixel Buds are now open for pre-orders and get a price tag of $159. They will come in a choice of three colors which include Just Black, Clearly White and Kinda Blue colour variants.
Finally, the company also announced an updated version of Google DayDream VR headset at the Pixel 2 launch event. Google claims the latest version of its Daydream View VR headset has better lenses that offer improved clarity as well as a wider field of view.
The new Google Daydream View VR headset has been priced at $99 and will go on sale later this year. It’ll be available in Fog, Charcoal, and Coral color options. The company also announced that its Daydream mobile VR platform now has over 250 titles to choose from which include both apps and games.
