Donald Glover Offer specialization Community Update on the film more than a year after the project was first announced.
Speaking to ET's Rachel Smith at the film's New York premiere Mr. and Mrs. Smith On Wednesday, the 40-year-old actor and musician shared that not only is the project still very much in the works, but there's already a script in place. Make sure that not only is there a script, but that the script is done!
“I was told the text was done — literally, I was texting today — I was told the text was done,” Glover tells ET.
But, no, the text hasn't arrived in Glover's inbox — at least not yet. “I haven't read it yet,” he says. But there's no doubt about it, Glover is involved in the project.
“It's really just a schedule [but] “I'm in,” says Glover, who is best known for portraying Troy Barnes on the show. “I'm in.”
He returned in September 2022 when he was Peacock Announce That a film was in the works, nearly a decade after a fan campaign began to end the comic's career with a film. Meanwhile, fans can see Glover star as John Smith and his co-star Maya Erskine stars as Jane Smith in Prime Video's reinvention of the 2005 action comedy of the same name starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. But instead of the couple eventually realizing they're working undercover for opposing agencies, the Prime Video series centers around two new agents who must pretend to be happily married.
Prime Video will stream episodes of Mr. and Mrs. Smith Starting February 1st.
