Walt Disney The company’s chief corporate affairs officer, Jeff Morrell, has confirmed he is stepping down, according to an email sent to company executives, as confirmed by FOX Business.

Morell had only served in that position for three months, during the entertainment company’s political turmoil after it sided with the Florida Parental Rights to Education Act.

In an email obtained by The Walt Company Disney CEO Bob Chapek told company executives that Morrell was “leaving the company to pursue other opportunities.”

Morell told his employees in an email that it had become “obvious” that he was not fit for the position.

“After three months in this new role, it became clear to me that for a number of reasons he was not a good fit,” Morrell wrote. “After talking about this with Bob, I decided to leave the company to pursue other opportunities.”

Morrell previously served as the Pentagon press secretary under former President Bush and former President Obama before joining BP America as head of communications in 2011.

Shackle announced several changes to the company’s leadership team as well.

Christina Schack will move to a new position, where she will lead the company’s communications efforts as Executive Vice President of Global Communications.

Horacio Gutierrez, general counsel for The Walt Disney Company, will lead the company’s government relations and global public policy efforts.
