Disneyland announced the first “Pride Nite” at its California theme park — just hours after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis filmed the entertainment block in the Sunshine State.

The presumptive 2024 presidential nominee and Disney have been at odds since the corporate giant publicly condemned legislation backed by DeSantis that bans discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity in kindergarten through third-grade classes.

Then, when the feud intensified, DeSantis, 44, created a new board to oversee Disney World, ending long-held autonomy in the House of Mouse.

But the DeSantis-appointed board was rendered powerless after his predecessors quietly passed a restrictive development agreement just before the changeover.

The clashes escalated further Monday — hours before Disney announced a California Pride Month event — when DeSantis vowed to halt Disney’s efforts to circumvent state oversight.

“Disney will not have its own government in Central Florida,” DeSantis declared.

“You will live under the same laws as everyone else.”

The governor of the Sunshine State fired the five members of the Disney-backed committee that oversaw the Reedy Creek Improvement District, Disney’s own self-governing territory, and chose their replacements to limit the company’s powers.

However, before the outgoing members were replaced, they voted in a special procedure that returned most of the committee’s powers to the entertainment giant.

“Disney did private deals to circumvent this whole process,” DeSantis asserted.

“They took control of the board. It was basically a legal fiction where they negotiated with themselves to give themselves home rule status. This is in direct defiance of the will of the people of Florida.”

The move gave full development authority over the parent company’s 27,000-acre property and barred the board from any use of the Disney brand — a move DeSantis said the state legislature would block.

Seemingly in response to the governor’s latest attack on the entertainment empire, Disney’s California theme park, Disneyland, has announced a special festive after-hours event titled, “Disneyland After Dark: Pride Night” Just hours after DeSantis’ remarks.

Billed as “a separate event celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies, the event will take place June 13 and 15, 2023, inside the Disneyland park.”

Those who attend the Pride After Hours event will be presented with entertainment, Disney characters, photo opportunities, special menu items, merchandise and more, According to the Disney Parks Blog.

The separate-ticketed event will begin with a three-hour pre-party before the private party runs until 1 a.m. PST.

During this time frame, attendees can ride popular attractions after normal park hours.
