Raiders owner Mark Davis said this week that head coach Josh McDaniels is doing “Great jobAlthough the team fell to 2-7 after losing to the Colts that led to a quarterback Derek Carr suffocation During his post-match press conference.

Others have a different take on the job McDaniels has in Las Vegas, but Davis has been adamant that he will give McDaniels time to turn things around after being hired earlier this year. Davis’ words were met with a much happier response from the quarterback.

Carr said he was “so happy to hear that Mr Davies feels that way” and that the comments “just gave us some breath” allowing the team to focus on their football rather than wondering if there was another change in coaching.

“Let’s get better,” Carr said, via ESPN.com’s Paul Gutierrez. “Let’s work on being a better football team. Let’s go out and win all these games. Let’s go out and try to do all that, of course, but let’s be a better football team. It’s kind of informing us, the process, the confidence in that process. There’s a process and we have A time during the season we know who our captain is, we know we roll, and that gives us confidence as a football team. So, sure, when he went out and did that, ‘Whew, thanks God“.that kind of thing.”

Carr’s career with the Raiders has continued through several coaches and another shakeup could end that tenure, so the current head coach’s endorsement is something that extends to him as well, at least in the near term. The last eight games of the year will likely determine how much rope is left with the Raiders.
