Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro has issued an apology to bands affected by their cancelled tour, as the rock band quietly released their new single “True Love.”

The band’s reunion tour came to an abrupt end after a dramatic altercation between Navarro and bandmate Perry Farrell, with the singer confronting him and throwing a punch before crew members dragged him off stage.

Shortly after, Pharrell apologized to Navarro, his bandmates, and their fans, and followed up with the announcement that Jane’s Addiction’s remaining shows had been canceled.

American artist Navarro celebrated the release of her new song “True Love” on Thursday with a new statement on the social networking site Instagram, along with an accompanying video clip for the song.

“Jane’s Addiction released a new song today called ‘True Love,’” he wrote. “I’m proud of the work we put into this song but equally sad that you probably won’t hear it live.

“I would also like to publicly apologize to our crew, @crawlersband and their crew, and @loveandrocketsofficial and their crew. Thank you for being our travel companions throughout this time.”

“I am very sad that things have ended this way and that so many jobs have been lost as a result,” he concluded. “I hope our hearts can all heal together.”

Earlier this week, Navarro shared a joint statement with guitarist Eric Avery and drummer Stephen Perkins, citing Pharrell’s “continued pattern of behavior” as a major factor behind the tour’s cancellation.

“Due to the ongoing pattern of behavior and mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to stop the current US tour,” the statement released late Monday, September 16, read.

“Our concern for his health and personal safety as well as our own left us with no alternative. We hope he finds the help he needs.

“We deeply regret that we were unable to accommodate the needs of all our fans who had already purchased tickets. We see no solution that would ensure a safe environment on stage or allow us to reliably deliver a great performance every night.

“Our hearts are broken. Dave, Eric and Stephen.”

In a separate statement seen by The Independent“This has been an incredibly difficult weekend and after having had the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologise to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends for my actions during Friday’s show,” Pharrell said.

“Unfortunately, my breaking point led to inexcusable behavior, and I take full responsibility for how I chose to handle the situation.”

Navarro’s latest statement suggests he does not envision any meeting in the future.
