‘Dancing with the Stars’: Selma Blair leaves season 31 early

Selma Blairtime in Dancing with the stars The ballroom came to an early conclusion Monday night when the actress voluntarily withdrew from the Season 31 competition.

Blair was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018 and has been transparent about her battle with the chronic disease while participating in Season 31 with professional dancer Sasha Farber. But during this week’s broadcast rehearsals, MRI results revealed that the rigors of the competition were inflicting significant, possibly serious, damage to Blair’s muscles and bones. And so I decided to exit the competition during Monday’s broadcast that celebrated the biggest year in each contestant’s life. She and Farber still performed a farewell dance on Andra Day’s song “What the World Needs Now is Love” earning 40 members of the jury.

“I don’t think people understand what this show means [the competitors]She told co-host Alfonso Ribeiro after her performance. “Everyone had incredible reasons to be here – so healthy and so good. To see the audience interact with each one of us and our efforts is heartwarming. I am so proud of everyone, and so proud of this audience to see us.”

Because Blair voluntarily left the competition, no other dancers were disqualified for Monday’s episode. Second shot, themed concert dance It will air on Disney+ on Tuesday night (8/7c), and instead, Monday’s jury results will go into Tuesday’s final results. (Blair’s perfect 40 won’t affect the competition; TikTok star Charli D’Amelio and Pro Mark Ballas earned the evening’s second-highest score—including the season’s top scores!—with their contemporary number.)
