Anyone who enters Germany from a high-risk area and is “not fully vaccinated” or cured should be isolated for ten days and can exempt themselves from it within five days of entering with a negative test. Children under the age of six should be isolated for five days. The classification of high risk area is linked to the Federal Foreign Office’s travel alert for non-essential tourism. This makes it easier for tourists to cancel already booked trips for free, but that does not mean a travel ban.
