Rising comedian Teddy Ray died Friday at the age of 32 in Rancho Mirage, California.
Comedy Central Television Network confirmed his death In a statement on Twitter: “Teddy Ray was a fun and lovable performer. He will be sorely missed by the entire comedy community.”
At about 10 a.m. Friday, Riverside County deputies responded to a call about a death at a private residence in the desert community of Rancho Mirage, Sgt. in Riverside County. Brandy Swann told The Times.
“The cause of death is unknown,” Swan said, noting that the investigation is being conducted by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
The legal name of comedian was Theodore Brown, and he lived in Gardena. The coroner’s office separately confirmed his death, but did not provide other details about his investigation.

Quinta Brunson, creator of the hit comedy on ABC’s “Abbott Elementary,” added late Friday a comment to his post: “Heartbroken. I’ll miss you, Teddy.”
A talented artist who emerged on the comedy scene about a decade ago, Ray has appeared in YouTube videos and in stand-up acts across the country, including in Los Angeles and Washington, DC. He first gained fame through Russell Simmons platform, All Def DigitalMany of his drawings went viral, and inspired popular memes.
Ray also appeared on Season 8 of MTV and HBO Max’s “Wild ‘N Out” Pause With Sam Jay.
