Pharaoh’s throat was cut
▶︎Ramses III. (1221–1156 BC): Kanya Teje is said to have instigated the murder of two harem servants in order to place her son on the throne. Despite the lack of evidence, she is convicted and her son is forced to commit suicide. Now a computed tomography of the mummy shows: a terminally ill pharaoh with his throat cut. Stabbed at Easter Mass
►Giuliano de’ Medici (1453–1478). Duke of Florence’s son stabbed at Easter Mass. For centuries it was believed that the Pope pulled the strings. He fought the doctor for power. Now Professor Marcello Simonetta has cracked a secret letter: in fact, Duke Federico of Urbino, an old enemy of the Medici, hired the assassins and then cast suspicion on the Pope.
In the wrong name
▶︎Edward V of England and Richard of Shrewsbury (1470/73-1483?). The sons of King Edward IV were imprisoned in the Tower of London after their father’s death. After some time, they disappeared without a trace. Description: Uncle Richard III. removed the princes. But now the “Cold Case” investigative team “The Missing Princess Project” has discovered: the children were allowed to live secretly, under false names, in the village of Goldridge (southwest England). A cold case with a happy ending.

Mysterious shot channel
►Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890). Officially, the painter shot himself with a gun in a village near Paris. But 100 years later, biographer Steven Knife (70) says: No suicide, but an accident! Naifeh’s Thesis: 16-year-old drifter Rene Secreton is playing with a pistol that suddenly fires a shot. The gun disappeared, the trajectory of the shot a mystery, and the case was reopened.

Files run out, witnesses die
▶︎Marilyn Monroe (1926–1962). The Hollywood icon reportedly died of an overdose of sleeping pills. Now Mike Rothmiller (72), one of the investigators at the time, says: It was an accident, maybe murder! Her thesis: On the night of her death, US Attorney General Robert Kennedy, Marilyn’s brother, US President John F. She wants to avoid talking to the press about her affair with Kennedy.
She is furious and attacks him with a knife. He mixes her a calming drink. The problem: the FBI files are gone, all the witnesses are dead…
