Chrissy Teigen has never been shy about responding to her critics on social media (or going completely nude), and on Saturday, she responded to a fan who criticized her pantsless appearance at the 2024 Olympics opening ceremony.
The 38-year-old “Chrissy & Dave Dine Out” star caused a bit of a stir on social media when she wore a green Chloé cardigan ($1,790) and matching shorts ($1,000) to the star-studded event in Paris on Friday, with many of her Instagram followers comparing the look to diapers.
While small bottoms are the perfect fashion statement, Instagram followers He didn’t seem to like the look, with one person describing it as “the worst outfit for this type of occasion.”
“Thanks for sharing!” Teigen wrote in response to the fan’s comment.
While she didn’t respond to any of the other snarky comments, there were far worse ones, like one that said: “Did the airline lose your pants? Seriously, that’s awful. If I was drunk, I’d understand.”
“Why are you wearing underwear and calling it an outfit?” another added, while many wrote a different comment such as “She looks like she’s wearing a diaper 😂.”
However, the model — who will be attending the Summer Olympics in Paris this week with husband John Legend, 45, and their two older children Luna, 8, and Miles, 6 — has also received plenty of support from other fans and famous friends.
“OMG this fits me🔥❤️😭✨” wrote Busy Philipps, while another Instagram user wrote, “Everyone is mad at this outfit – she’s a model with 7ft legs, let her show her assets, he bought her a house, what did your legs do.”
As for her outfit, it featured military-style gold buttons adorning both the cotton jacket and matching shorts, and she coordinated the look with high-heeled shoes. Saint Laurent Sandal ($945) and a Bottega Veneta clutch.
The “Cravings” author is certainly no stranger to pantsless moments; she’s been spotted wearing shorts on several occasions, including a December 2023 date night with the “All of Me” singer and one of her husband’s concerts in 2021.
The opening ceremony wasn’t the only time Teigen wore a mini to the Olympics.
On Sunday, she attended a women’s gymnastics event wearing a white Alexander Wang outfit that looked like a ripped men’s T-shirt.
She wore a camel ribbed shirt and white crop top ($395) with a matching Hotflix Mini Skort ($495) from the brand, with the mini bottom featuring shirt-style buttons and a drawstring waist.
