Matt Nagy was assistant president under Andy Reed before becoming the Bears coach, and is returning to Kansas City for his first job since the Bears fired him at the end of the 2021 season.

The Chiefs announced Friday that they have appointed Nagy as first assistant and quarterback coach. Mike Kafka has been quarterback coach for the past two seasons, but took over as Attacking Giants coordinator earlier this year.

Nagy spent two seasons as Chiefs offensive coordinator before being hired by the Bears in 2018. He was the midfield coach for three seasons before being promoted and spent the previous five seasons with Reed with the Eagles.

Eric Benemi was the linebacker coach during Nagy’s previous tenure with Chiefs and was promoted to offensive coordinator following the departure of Nagy and Agree on New deal to stay in this role this week. Should he move to a head coach position or for other reasons after the 2022 season, Nagy could retract to his previous position with West Asian Football Club.

Survivor went 34-31 in the regular season and 0-2 in the playoffs during his four seasons in Chicago.
