Buckle up people, as Chevrolet has confirmed its plans to officially unveil the much-anticipated Corvette ZR1 on Sunday, November 12, at the 2017 Dubai Motor Show. The upcoming Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is touted as the most powerful Corvette model the company has ever produced.
Under the hood, the ZR1 is expected to get powered by an LT5 supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine which churns out a massive 750 horsepower along with 922NM of torque. The engine will be bundled with a 7-speed manual transmission and 8-speed automatic.
The car is expected to reach a top speed of over 210 mph, while it zips from 0-62 mph in less than 3 seconds. The car can reportedly spit fire out from its exhaust, and has a new fuel injection system. The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is also expected to be heavier than the Z06, though is said to be faster than the Z06.
Other changes expected include a massive rear wing spoiler, which we just found out thanks to a new video teaser that Chevy just posted. As expected, the teaser is just a few seconds long but reveals rather intriguing details about the ZR1.
To begin with, the clip allows us to hear the car’s 750 horsepower engine roar. Besides, it also gives us a sneak peek of the car’s exterior revealing two of the four exhaust pipes, along with the massive rear spoiler which offers 500 pounds of down-force. The teaser also shows us a part of the car’s front fascia, though what really hooked us was the beastly sound of that 750-horsepower engine.
As far as pricing goes, rumor has it that the Corvette ZR1 should get a starting price of nearly $120,000. We’ll know everything about the Chevy’s nest gen Corvette on November 12, when the company will officially unveil the car at this year’s edition of Dubai Motor Show.
