Channing Tatum has admitted he will tell his daughter the truth about his past – including his time as a male stripper – when she is “old enough”.
The actor, 42, is dad to nine-year-old Everly, whom he shares with ex-wife Jenna Dewan.
But before finding fame in Hollywood, Channing spent much of his teenage years working as an exotic dancer in Tampa, Florida.

Channing — who has been open about his days of stripping — then went on to star in the Magic Mike franchise, based on the real-life story of stripper Mike Zeeman.
But talk to Entertainment tonightHe admitted that he would be clear with his daughter that he did not only portray this role on screen.
He said, ‘When you’re old enough to watch it, we’ll have that conversation.
“There’s no version of me not having the ‘dad didn’t he just do it in the movies, I was a real stripper’ conversation,” so I’m not going to lie to her.

Channing was voted Athlete of the Year when he graduated from Tampa Catholic High School in 1998, but turned down a football scholarship and instead chose to strip in a Florida nightclub.
Under the stage name “Chan Crawford,” the 18-year-old said he was making $50 a night plus tips.
The actor, who married Step Up co-star Jenna Dewan in July 2009, caught the eye of a female casting agent who put him in Ricky Martin’s music video She Bangs.
This led to modeling jobs, and eventually acting jobs in Hollywood.
The 21 Jump Street star has appeared as the titular stripper Michael Lane in two films of the Magic Mike franchise – which has also spawned a stage show and a TV series – and teased that the upcoming Magic Mike’s Last Dance sequel might not be the final installment in the series.

Channing was joined by co-star Salma Hayek, who noted that on the last day of filming the latest movie — due for release in February — he went crazy after having to restrict his diet to appear on screen.

However, in 2018, the couple announced that they had separated, and their divorce was finalized in November 2019.
Talking to Vanity Fair In a new interview, Channing explained how the couple steadily grew apart after becoming more aware of their differences.
‘We fought about it for a really long time,’ he said, ‘even though we both kind of knew we had drifted apart.
I think we told ourselves a story when we were young, and we kept telling ourselves that story, no matter how blatantly we were told about life being so different.
But when you are already parents, you both really understand your differences. Because he yells at you all day.

Describing their initial separation, Channing said, “At first, it was very scary and terrifying. Your life revolves around its axis.

Split: However, in 2018, Channing and Jenna announced that they had separated, and their divorce was finalized in November 2019.
But Channing remained positive, reflecting on the split, saying, “Maybe it was exactly what I needed.”

Despite this new relationship, Channing, who also dated singer Jessie J, stated, “I don’t know if I’ll ever get married again.”
He explained, “Relationships are hard for me. Although I’m a bit of a monogamist.
At work, I have no real fear of ruining anything. But the heart stuff, when it comes to the people I love, I have a really hard time. I ended up trying really hard, you know? “
