8 pm in the city of Rocklin, 35 kilometers from the California capital Sacramento. Twelve-year-old William Wimsott goes out with his mother to take a photograph that immediately takes on such tragic significance.

US shipper KCRA 3 William said of the chick helper: “He got out of the car and shooed the ducks away and everyone applauded because he was so friendly. All the little ducklings were struggling and he helped control them.

The boy says, “My mom rolled down the window and said, ‘Well, well done,’ and I told her, ‘Well done,’ too.”

“One of his shoes and one of his socks was in front of our car,” the boy says. “He was the only person who got out of the car and tried to help them, the only good guy around. That’s not right.”

︎ Tragedy: According to reports, the chick’s rescuer had her own children in the car. They had to witness the horrific accident.

A woman told the station CBSTheir children also suffered an accident. “They said, ‘Oh, that’s so cute. That’s so nice of him.’ Then suddenly a car hit him.

At the death crossing, residents placed rubber ducks and flowers to express their sympathy for the death of the chick rescuer.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident. The 17-year-old driver of the accident is reportedly cooperating with police. Drunk driving is not currently suspected.
