Britney Spears shared a cryptic message with her more than 42.2 million Instagram followers on Sunday, hours after reactivating her Instagram account.
After a brief break from social media, which lasted less than 24 hours, the pop star, 41, raised eyebrows by sharing a photo of a pink heart-shaped cake with the words “see you in hell” written on it in a pink icing.
While it’s unclear exactly who she’s addressing, the mother-of-two insisted to fans on Friday that her stunning memoir, The Woman Inside Me, wasn’t meant to ruffle any feathers or hurt anyone’s feelings.
This marks her second post after deleting her Instagram for less than a day.
SENDING A MESSAGE: Britney Spears shared a cryptic message with her more than 42.2 million Instagram followers on Sunday, hours after reactivating her Instagram account.
On Saturday, the musician returned to the platform where she shared a post in a white mini dress.
‘Classic!!! I made this dress, no lie!!! It broke in the back when I started filming of course!!! I’ve waited three years to wear it…I have no idea why??? Hmmmm,” she captioned the post.
The video appears to have been recorded sometime last year as a lighted Christmas tree was visible behind Britney for its entire duration.
The brief deactivation of her Instagram profile came amid surprising revelations revealed in excerpts from her upcoming post.
In the book, Britney admitted to cheating on Justin with her choreographer Wade Robson.
The star also shared that she had an abortion at age 19 because Justin Timberlake “wasn’t ready to be a father.”
Busy week: On Saturday, the musician returned to the stage after ditching it after sharing a lengthy note about the interest surrounding her new tell-all book; Seen in 2019
Memoir: I shared most of the book 20 years ago. “I’ve moved on and it’s a nice clean slate from here!!!”
Shortly before deleting her Instagram page, she shared a lengthy note about the attention surrounding her book.
“I don’t like the headlines I read,” she wrote in black handwriting on a stark white background.
“My book was not intended to offend anyone in any way,” the note continued. That was me then. This is in the past.
“Most of the book dates back 20 years,” she continued. “I’ve moved on and it’s a nice clean slate from here!!!”
The pop star added: ‘I’m here to prove it this way for the rest of my entire life!!! Either way, this is the last and it will happen!!!’
Spears wrote that she wanted the baby and “dreamed of starting a family” with Justin, who was also 19 at the time, but ultimately “just wasn’t ready” for the responsibilities of fatherhood.
In an excerpt published by People magazine, the singer recalled: “It was a surprise, but it was not a tragedy for me.” I loved Justin so much. I always expected that we would have a family together one day. This will be much sooner than I expected.
“He said that we were not ready to have a child in our lives, that we were too young. I am sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the child.
I don’t know if this is the right decision. If it had been left to me alone, I would never have done it. However, Justin was very sure that he did not want to become a father.
